Which video formats can it download?
HLS streaming (.m3u8), DASH streaming (.mpd), and direct files such as MP4, WebM, and MOV. HLS streams are downloaded segment-by-segment and merged into a single MP4 using ffmpeg.wasm.
Why does the icon show no videos on a page?
getvy detects videos from network requests. If the page was open before the extension was installed, or the video hasn't started loading, nothing is captured yet. Refresh the page and press Play — the badge updates within seconds.
Can it download YouTube or DRM-protected videos?
No. YouTube is excluded due to its terms of service and web store policies, and DRM-protected streams from subscription services cannot be downloaded — getvy does not bypass copy protection.

Unlike online downloader sites that re-upload your link to their servers, getvy works entirely inside your browser: segments are fetched up to six at a time and merged locally with ffmpeg.wasm, so nothing you watch is ever sent to a third party.
